Wandle English Hub at Chesterton Primary School is proud to be one of the government’s English Hubs - one of just 34 schools nationwide recognised for excellence in teaching and learning and now charged with supporting other local schools to improve their provision.
Our Hub aims to support schools so that they can achieve excellence in early literacy teaching. This support begins with an initial focus on promoting a love of reading, developing early language and closing the word gap and developing early reading through systematic, synthetic phonics.
We work with schools across the following 16 London boroughs Bexley, Bromley, Camden, City of London, Croydon, Greenwich, Hounslow, Kingston, Lambeth, Lewisham, Merton, Richmond upon Thames, Southwark, Sutton, Wandsworth and Westminster.
